| Kilshanny Community Centre |
In 1997, Kilshanny Community Council was established to address perceived needs in the area. People in the community were concerned that buildings and areas in the community were in need of improvement. These included:
The Local Community Hall
The Forge Cross
The Graveyard
Church Car Park Signage
Church car Park Lighting
To date we have:
1. Completely refurbished the Community hall. The roof was replaced, new ceilings, windows and doors added, the floor in the main hall and meeting room replaced, heating installed and the hall has been completely re-wired
2. At the Forge Cross, the rubble and stone have been cleared, pea gravel was laid, a new fence was erected and flowers and shrubs have been planted. We received a Community Aware Award from Clare County Council for the improvements carried out at the Forge Cross
3. We planted spring flowers in the Village
4. In the graveyard, gravel paths were laid and the grass is cus on a regular basis
5. Two new street lights have been erected, one in the church car park and one on the approach to the church
in 2006, a limited company was formed. The name of the limited company is Kilshanny Community Centre Ltd. We are a non profit organisation. If anyone is interested in using the hall plase contact us through this site.
