Dear Parishioner,

The themes / objectives of the group have been to:

• Ensure that all parishioners are aware what is going on in the parish through the various communication channels
• Ensure that all parishioners are aware of the various support organisation that exist on their behalf.
• Create a greater sense of community for our younger generations so that they can grow up in an environment that fosters involvement, inclusion and a sense of being before they leave school and enter the world of work or further education.

This is our first year in operation and so far we have been involved in:

• Running of a special remembrance day for the families and friends of the victims of the Doolin Tragedy 25 years ago.
• We have established a web presence www.lisdoonvarnakilshanny.com where all local groups, associations, schools etc can publish news and information for the community. This is also very useful for our families who live abroad to keep in touch with events at home.
• We have been involved in the establishment and running of the Folk Masses in Lisdoonvarna which enables younger people to participate more at Mass and ensures that the Mass has a more youthful feel to it.

We are working on some networking events for the different groups in the parish over the next few months including a Babies and Childrens Mass near Christmas, a similar event for New arrivals in the parish, newly marrieds in the parish. 

Many people in the parish still feel isolated and do not always know what is going on. In the spirit of inclusion we would like to communicate with them either in writing, by phone or by email.

This is a completely OPT IN Process i.e.
